CHELSEA FC -Chelsea FC 1960's v neck.
Chelsea FC 1960's v neck.:
Chelsea FC 1960's V neck. The 1960s saw the emergence of a talented young Chelsea side under manager Tommy Docherty. They challenged for honours throughout the decade, and endured several near-misses. They were on course for a treble of League, FA Cup and League Cup going into the final stages of the 1964-65 season, winning the League Cup but faltering late on in the other two.

Manchester Utd 1970 'Best' Shirt with No7:
Manchester Utd 1970 'Best' Shirt with No7 Born May 22, 1946 in Belfast, George Best was, in some eyes, the greatest talent the game of British soccer has ever seen. He was football's first superstar and his fans considered it a tragedy when he walked out on Manchester United in 1972 at the age of 27. Best had it all, superb balance, two good feet, brilliant dribbling skills, a powerful shot, he was even good in the air. The sixties were Best's heyday, he won the a Championship medal twice, a European Cup medal and in 1968 was the European Footballer of the Year. Best's decline is well documented, but ultimately he should be remembered for what he was - a footballing genius.

Jack Charlton said "Tommy Smith was easily the hardest player I faced. I ran into him once and he knocked every ounce of breath out of me. I tried to get up and look like he hadn't hurt me, but he had." It is nearly thirty years since Smith’s last appearance for the Reds, but his name still commands the utmost respect at Anfield. Stories of ‘The Anfield Iron’ continue to be passed on to the next generation of fans, who appreciate Smith’s love of the club and his role as part of the Scouse heartbeat in the Liverpool sides of the 60s and 70s, similar to the modern day heroes of Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool 1981 Paris European Cup Winners Spanish giants Madrid were taking part in their 9th European Cup final and had won the cup on 6 previous occasions, but Liverpool were eager to join the ranks of those who had captured the trophy 3 times. Alan Kennedy got the crucial goal, taking a Ray Kennedy throw-in on his chest, going past defender Cortes, and then smashing home from a tight angle. In an exciting finish, Souness narrowly failed to grab a second goal after a marvellous save from keeper Agustin.

Liverpool v Newcastle United 1974 FA Cup Final DVD-LIVERPOOL
Liverpool v Newcastle United 1974 FA Cup Final DVD:
Liverpool v Newcastle United 1974 FA Cup Final As Bill Shankly’s rebuilt side of the 1970’s flourished in the 1972-73 Season, the 1973-74 campaign didn’t quite live up to expectation, with the F.A. Cup becoming the only realistic chance of adding silverware to the trophies won the previous year. But facing Newcastle, they played a team that had never lost a Wembley final, and the stage was set for a keenly–awaited showdown. With eight of Liverpool’s starting line-up remaining from the side that suffered heart-ache in the extra-time defeat of the1971 final, Bill Shankly’s team were determined to make amends, and with the addition of Kevin Keegan, they started as favourites to lift the Cup. After a first half of few chances, Liverpool really turned on the style in the second half with a master-class display of total football. Alec Lindsay became the scorer of perhaps the best F.A. Cup goal that never was, before Kevin Keegan opened the scoring, Steve Heighway added number two and then Kevin Keegan scored his second of the game after a move of flowing football with only minutes remaining. As the triumphant Bill Shankly headed for the Wembley tunnel with a red flag held above his head, the Liverpool fans rightly saluted their great manager. But weeks later he would stun the world of football by announcing his retirement, after clinching his final piece of silverware Featuring post-match interviews with the players and Bill Shankly, this is a piece of history that must be owned.

Manchester United v Liverpool – 1977 FA Cup Final DVD:
Manchester United v Liverpool – 1977 FA Cup Final Back at Wembley, Manchester United were determined to make amends for their previous year’s defeat to Southampton. But facing treble chasing Liverpool, the Merseysiders were odds on favourite to clinch the Cup. The match was a tight affair, as both teams successfully managed to cancel each other out. But then came a frantic five minutes just after half time, which saw the trophy heading back to Old Trafford for the 4th time in their history. Pearson opened the scoring for United when he smashed the ball past Clemence from twenty yards on 50 minutes. However, the joy was short lived, as Case superbly equalised only two minutes later. But just as Liverpool hopes were revived, United struck again on 55 minutes. After Greenhoff had seized upon Tommy Smith’s mistake, Lou Macari’s goal-bound shot took a telling deflection past a stranded Ray Clemence, to make it 2-1 and advantage United. Liverpool fought hard to equalise, and Ray Kennedy rattled the bar in the closing stages, but it was United’s day as they avenged the heart-ache suffered 12 months earlier and denied their Northwest rivals of the much-coveted treble. Featuring the post match interviews as they happened on the day – this is a true collectors item.

Wimbledon v Liverpool 1988 FA Cup Final DVD-LIVERPOOL
Wimbledon v Liverpool 1988 FA Cup Final DVD:
Wimbledon v Liverpool 1988 FA Cup Final There have been some great shocks in FA Cup history, and this ranks amongst the greatest, as unfashionable Wimbledon marked their remarkable rise from non-league football to top-flight status to clinch the FA Cup for the first time in their history against three times winners Liverpool beneath the twin towers. Liverpool were odds on favourites to complete the double having clinched the league title only a week earlier and Wimbledon who were still playing fourth division football 5 years earlier were simply written off by the pundits. But it proved to be a day for unlikely heroes, as Wimbledon’s two outstanding performers on the day made vital contributions to Wimbledon’s cause. Dave Beasant, the Wimbledon goalkeeper, was responsible for two FA Cup ‘firsts’ as he became the first goalkeeper to receive the cup as well as save a penalty kick at Wembley. But it was Lawrie Sanchez who scored the all-important goal with a glancing header from a Dennis Wise free kick shortly before half time. Liverpool still fashioned chances, but found Dave Beasant in fine form, and his crowning glory came on the hour when he guessed right and dived to the left to deny John Aldridge from the spot and etch himself into the record books. Wimbledon stood strong and the unthinkable happened, as the cup headed to South London rather than Merseyside, and now relive this truly remarkable day all over again with the full 90 minutes and post match interviews from the day, which captures the true magic of the FA Cup and this historic day for the Dons.

Liverpool 1978 Wembley European Cup Winners-LIVERPOOL
Liverpool 1978 Wembley European Cup Winners:
Liverpool 1978 Wembley European Cup Winners Emlyn Hughes became the first English captain to lift two European Cups, a feat that still remains to be emulated over two decades on. FC Bruges had been Liverpool's opponents in the 1976 UEFA Cup final and their side showed only a few changes of personnel. Liverpool on the other hand had 'lost' Smith, Jones, Keegan, Heighway and Callaghan from the glorious Rome side. The most memorable event of a relatively tame 90 minutes was the sublimely chipped goal by Dalglish, put through clinically by fellow Scot Souness, on 65 minutes. It was his 30th of a remarkable debut season for the Reds.

Liverpool v Sunderland 1992 FA Cup Final DVD-LIVERPOOL
Liverpool v Sunderland 1992 FA Cup Final DVD:
Liverpool v Sunderland 1992 FA Cup Final Reaching their fourth final in seven years, the Reds headed for Wembley eager for Cup success. Finishing the season in sixth, it was remarkably the Club’s lowest position for 27 years, but in Graeme Souness’ first full season in charge, the faithful Kop were not too despondent at the prospect of the FA Cup heading back to Anfield. Facing second division Sunderland, who had upset the form books in 1973 when they toppled Don Revie’s Leeds United, Liverpool were odds on favourites to clinch the cup for a fantastic fifth time. But a testing first half lay ahead and the scoreline remained deadlocked as the half-time whistle sounded. However, the second half proved to be a completely different story, and with only two minutes played the break-through came, as Steve McManaman’s cross fell to Michael Thomas who smashed the ball home with clinical aplomb, and maybe just maybe he was forgiven for that injury time goal for Arsenal in 1989 that denied the Reds of yet another league title and domestic double. One soon became two, and it was the goalscorer who turned provider. Thomas latched onto Saunders’ through ball, rounded the keeper and rolled it into the path of Ian Rush who tucked it past Norman in the Sunderland goal, for his fifth and record breaking FA Cup Final goal. It was the season that marked the Club’s return to European football for the first time since 1985, and it was business as usual as another piece of silverware headed for the Anfield trophy cabinet. Now relive the full uninterrupted ninety minutes all over again on this specially produced DVD.

Manchester Utd v Liverpool 1996 FA Cup Final DVD-LIVERPOOL
Manchester Utd v Liverpool 1996 FA Cup Final DVD:
Manchester Utd v Liverpool 1996 FA Cup Final With United gunning for their second double in three seasons, this final brought back memories of the 1977 final, when these two rivals met for the first time beneath the ‘Twin Towers’, and United denied the Merseysiders of the double, but 19 years later, United weren’t to be denied, and the double double was complete in successive seasons. United started with confidence, and Beckham struck a ‘bullet-shot’ that James did well to save in the opening exchanges. But the expected breakthrough didn’t follow, and tension mounted. The 1st half passed and the 2nd continued in a similar manner as extra time loomed. But with 85 minutes played Beckham sent over an out-swinging corner, which James only managed to parry and newly crowned ‘Footballer of the Year’ Eric Cantona pounced. The Frenchman, within an instant re-positioned himself and drove the ball back through a crowded penalty area and into the net. It had been a remarkable year for the hugely talented Cantona, who had marked his return to football after an absence of 8 years with an awe-inspiring season that didn’t go unnoticed by the critics. “You don’t win anything with kids” said former Liverpool player and pundit Alan Hansen at the start of that season about United’s young team. Nine months later, these same kids had won the double and had made their mark in football history. So now relive this day in history once again, when Eric Cantona became the first Frenchman to lead his team up the Wembley steps and receive the Cup for a record 9th time for the Club.
